Ford Say Its My Clutch Switch... I Call Bull.

So last couple of months been having trouble with my clutch pedal not coming all the way up.
It engages clutch fully and there is no slipping.. If I let out the clutch fast the pedal will come all the way up..

If I let the clutch out slow it will come up about 95% of the way up.. Master cylinder is full and clutch has been bled the clutch 4 times now..

Got a call from Ford dealer saying its the CLUTCH PEDAL SWITCH and that's why the pedal is not returning fully. Clutch pedal switch should not have a effect on the clutch pedal travel..

Could it be the Clutch assit spring..Slave or CSC..

Will be picking car up Tommorow and see if it is fixed.. If not doing u turn driving back leaving keys and saying don't ring me till its fixed properly.

It's not effecting how the clutch operates but it's a pain in the arse to keep putting my foot under pedal to raise it the last centimeter.

  • I went past and said I was your cousin and said I wanna take the car. They refused me the keys and I said ill call him. I left

  • I think your pedal is depressed and has self esteem issues. Obviously it puts on a brave front in public but once at home in its private space it all gets to be too much.

Pedal does not come up fully BB.. And drops about 1" over night.

pedal dropping would suggest air in the system of leaking/bypassing seals in the MC or CSC. I would suggest MC as CSC you would see a drop in fluid level.

Edit: if you start the car, put it in first with foot on clutch and sit and wait does the clutch bleed down? IE does it start to disengage

Disengage ? Like goes in Netrual?

start car

foot on clutch

select 1st

foot on clutch

sit and wait for a few minutes

If the revs are pulled down and the car feels like its starting to creep forward pressure in the system is bleeding down

The helper spring is appling extrea force to make the pedal lighter, this force is pushing against the hydraulics in the system. If the system is bypassing/leaking/has a gut full of air internally the pedal helper spring could be pulling the pedal down against the pressure to the point that it either bleeds down and the pedal drops or the air in the system is compressed

Well will get the car back Tommorow as its at Ford.. Got a call and they said its the Clutch pedal switch.. I was like....are you sure as that would not make the pedal drop overnight and not come all the way up...

I think there talking about your cruise control switch. They can fail and jamb open, and it will take a bit if force to close it again.

Try and use cruise control when the problem occurs. If its your switch, cruise control won't work.
