Detonating?

so my car has started spluttering and misfiring at 15psi when its boosting above 3000rpm..... spoke to heinrich performance and they think sh*tty coil packs. I have some Weapon X coils on the way to hopefully fix the problem but just wondering if there could be anything else it might be. It sounds like its detonating... my alternator is slowly kicking the bucket- could this also play a role?

Likely to cause more problems..

Should stick with genuine ford ones..

how so? if the stock ones are failing now wouldnt they fail again?

If the stock ones have lasted 8 years in your car that ain't bad..

Do a search.. Heaps of people have had issues with non genuine coils..

Your stock ones have failed but how many kms have they done. Weapon x coils have been hit and miss, some have shown the same effects of a old factory coil.

Detonating, so you can hear it knock, I would take the foot off the gas till its sorted out.

car has done 160kms so I can only assume their originals- will see how the weapon X coils go and post up results.
