Handbreak And Abs

Well question says it all, went to flick the T around and ah didnt happen, either I have a very loose handbreake needing adjusting or ABS, is that possible? I'd have thought the handbrake would be direct cable connection and over ride ABS.

would traction control have contributed? Did you disengage?

Whats with the handbrake and abs, maybe you need a 6 pack

Dont think ABS is connected in any way to the hand brake.

However, I can confirm through experience that the ABS does work whilst going backwards..................... :ermm::blush::thumbsup:

The handbrake is a direct mechanical link, whereas the ABS is controlled electronically so I doubt the two are connected. I've been told the handbrake in the fords can't withstand that type of punishment, have you ever noticed the handbrake in the VB challenge cars? Definately not stock.

But hey it's your car treat her as you see fit.

I too have heard that the Handbrake can remove the brake shoes from their mountings if used for stopping or turning. Definately not a good idea.
