April 23, 201313 yr #1 Hi fellas. Just want some clarification on the brackets on the f6 cooler vs the stock xr ones. Ive heard they dont bolt straight up one of the brackets needs modifying/changing. Ive also been told that same models ba-ba, bf-bf etc. will bolt on and all line up. Can anybody give me a definitive answer whether you can use the xr mounting brackets?Cheers. Edited April 23, 201313 yr by D DUB
April 24, 201313 yr #2 Brackets are different - you need to drill one extra hole to mount them and make sure you get All of the factory brackets if you buy one. IMO, they are getting on age-wise these days so unless you are buying one that is in great overall nick, fins are clean and straight and the insulation rubbers aren't perished/split....... have a good think about it. There are many good name-brand units out there that work properly for about 1K buy price, still use factory pipes and will deliver a better overall result along with giving you more scope in terms of reliable power delivery.
April 24, 201313 yr #4 Author Thanks mate. I was looking at the PW replacement but picked up the f6 one for $130 in all but mint condition that had only done 15 000 kms. Seeing as this is only my to and from worker the f6 one with injectors and tune should do me as a cheap upgrade. So do you mean I need the brackets off the f6 cooler or can I modify my xr ones and bolt it onto them?
April 24, 201313 yr #5 I fitted a bf f6 cooler onto my ba on the weekend, took the brackets of my stock cooler and it bolted straight on
April 24, 201313 yr #6 As above remove original brackets from cooler fit to f6 cooler bolt back on nothing special about it just about bigger then stock good upgrade up to around 300kw worth while if brought cheap in my opinion
