Without a boost gauge how do you know the turbo is not boosting?

Usually with other cars I get little or no boost only if there is an exhaust leak, which you should be able to hear.

If it's down in power it may be some non-turbo related problem.... so take it back.

Ummm, you are not hitting 2700rpms.....

I thought the turbo reached boost at 2000rpm, thus the reasonably flat torque curve from there up to the rev limiter :censored:

Richdave,

My old dyno graph of the car when stock shows max boost of 6psi at 90kph, which is around 2800 revs in 4th gear. It had 4psi at 80kph (2500 revs).

Rapt, you may have a sticky swing valve in the turbo housing, this can cause normal boost and then complete loss of turbo pressure. We saw ths problem on an xr6t in december and sorted the problem after the vehicle had been back to ford on 5 occasions. Need less to say the owner was stocked when we sorted the problem.
