Hi Guys, I have a 2004 BA that has just started to get hard to move from park to reverse. With a little pressure you can engage reverse but it bangs in .Any idea ?

When you park the car, put it in neutral then handbrake on then park..

Hi Bud , is there a reason for this procedure ?

#4

Sometimes the car rolls abit when in park and puts load on the transmission.

If you're parked on a hill and the weight of the car is on the trans, this will make it bang when you take it out of park.

Try it on a flat surface.

I know someone who repeatedly complained to Expensive Daewoo about a car doing this and they kept saying they couldnt fault it.

One day, she took me to lunch in it and when it banged as she took it out of park and said " See ?! and they reckon nothing's wrong with it".

They were right, she was parked on a hill and the trans in Park was holding the car, not the hand brake.
