Trouble Removing Bf Rear Discs..

Hey, as topic says I am having issues getting the rear rotor off. I have the handbrake in off position, caliper up out of the way and bashing the hub part of disc with a mallet! No good... any tips?? just keep swinging while turning it or am I missing something?? Cheers, Josh

ok so, I can get the rotor fairly loose and almost hanging off hub shaft.. but when I look down the back of the rotor where I have made a gap, I can see these this rod pieces of metal like a fork hanging onto the rotor.... what the hell is going on here!!?? I swear these small rod things are stopping it sliding off

I think youl find the handbrake shoe is holding it on, those metal bits hold the shoe in place, theres a hole with a rubber grommet in it on thefront if the rotor,pull the grommet out and turn te disc until you see the handbrake adjuster wheel, turn the adjuster clockwise with a screw driver , youl need a hammer for rhs, once handbrake is backed off disc will come off easy.

Smacked the F$&ker as hard as you can and Make sure the handbrake shoes are completely wound off

Success. What a trap that hand brake adjuster is! my tutorial I found on another forum did not mention it at all.. Thanks heaps

Haha only just saw this sorry mate, glad u got it sorted

When u fit te new rotor make sure handbrake cable is backed right off, adjust the handbrake so that the levers (where the cable attatches to) come off the backing plates about 5-10mm (should hear slight drag when disc is turned by hand) then nip cable up so there is a small amount of tension on the levers

I just reversed the adjuster by how much I loosened it to get rotor off.. I have slight drag sound when I turn them by hand. Hopefully this is basically what you suggested I do lol... Hand brake feels basically the same as it did preciously.
