Hey Guys, my cat has decided to break away inside and I ve managed to give it a rev and shoot some out of the exhaust.

Im guessing this will create a little more boost for the car? Has anyone had this happen?

I want to one day upgrade the exhaust but not just yet. To fix this is it simply a case of getting a new one welded on?? The ba dump pipe and cat are on the same pipe, I dont want to spend all that money for a cat.

Is your car tuned or stock?

You should replace it with whatever the broken one is to avoid any change of flow.

It is stock. Yeah I plan too asap.

If you don't replace it with the factory one (or one with the same flow) you may have issues with overboost and going into limp mode.

pretty sure the ford one is quite expensive.

If you're in Melbourne give FTG Auto Salvage a call (Mon-Fri). They have reasonably priced second hand ones if you dont want to pay an arm and a leg.

also this may clog your mufflers

Ended up having to change a cat and rear muffler too.

Havent gotten around to it yet, away with work past few months.

Probably just buy a new exhaust I think in the end and get a tune at the same time.
