Yeah. It seems weird that the iPhone 4 would work but it broke with the iPhone 4S and iOS 5.

When I asked about the ICC issues, the service bloke said I must be using an aftermarket cable. I told him nope it's genuine and he got a bit stuck then. I guess the default "your a cheapskate its your Chinese cable's fault" is what they try off first go.

Well, it's the genuine Apple one. I told him it should work with that one, there's an issue if it doesn't.

Genuine apple cable? Arent we talking about bluetooth here? Bluetooth has nothing to do with the cable. And ipod audio input on mk2s wont work with an apple cable as the module requires audio and info input from the usb port and aux port both of which the genuine cable plugs into.

Thanks for your help in here Bionic.

I have two issues. Firstly, there's the issue with caller ID not displaying (I think it's explained above) which you indicated would hopefully be fixed with a software update. They said they reflashed the firmware so hopefully that's resolved.

The second issue is to do with the music playing through the ICC and changing to Bluetooth. This is the written description I gave them:

Second, imagine the following scenario. The car is turned on and a iPhone is plugged in to the USB port and the car is playing music from the iPhone. The ignition in the car is cut (the engine is turned off). The car is started again.

In this scenario, the car will stop playing the music from the iPhone and fails to detect that an iPhone is connected. If the media type is swapped to Bluetooth, the music from the iPhone is heard. In order to regain the iPhone controls, the iPhone must be unplugged from the USB port and then plugged back in again.

The cable I'm using is the standard Apple Dock to USB cable (genuine). Are you saying I need a different cable?

Yes you will need the genuine FORD cable for the system to work properly as it splits into two and plugs the ipod into both aux and usb ports. From memory you wont even get sound with just the apple cable plugged in...

Also interested to know if the firmware update fixed the first issue?
