Ute Install Options

hey guys quick question, got a ba ute and ive been told it has 2 5x7 in the front and 2 5x7 in the rear is this correct?

and will I be able to fit 6x9 in the rear without too much trouble?

current plan is 2 12 inch kicker subs, one behind each seat

kicker 6x9 splits in the rear

unsure of what 5x7 in the front

putting a head unit at the bottom of my climate control/radio unit

kicker amps running one for the subs one for the other speakers

what do u think?

Yes 5x7, correct.

Pretty sure you can fit 6x9 in the rear but why not fit some spacers over the 5x7 hole and put in some quality 6in components and same up front but splits and put tweeters in the a pillar?

Good choice on the aftermarket HU

Only thing that might trouble you is the 2 subs. Might be a tight fit! But good luck and post pics as you go

You won't need 6x9s with two 12s. I had two alpine R type 12"s in my ba ute years ago running off an m1000... Was loudddddd.

hmmm thing is ive been offered a pretty decently priced package by a mate who just sold his car and removed his system

includes

2-12inch kicker subs with amp to go with

2-6x9 kicker speakers

2-6 inch kickers speakers...I think splits and some tweeters thatd need to go in the pillars

and a kicker amp for the speakers

all for $500!!

will just need to get a head unit and enclosures for the subs, cause the enclosure atm is too big...

qurious as to know how to go about putting 6 inchers at the front? is there an adapter I can buy?

Yea I had 6" in my ute and so did a mate, so have to be able to fit. Won't be hard to get a box made or even do it yourself.

I'd buy the system at that price. Even if you don't end up using both subs you could always just sell one off.

The spacer should be easy to make for the front speakers, just mark one up out of mdf.

Looking at doin something similar here in my bf2 ute, only thing is I wanna be able to hook the speakers to both the amp and also be still able to utilize the speakers through the icc. I swear I saw a amp somewhere in a mag I think that allows the hookup of factory system speakers..

Im not sure what model kicker is at now but I ran a LC7 in my ute years ago and it just converts the out put from the factory head unit int speaker outs and aux so can run into subs and amps without loosing factory steering wheel controls or having to put another deck underneath,
