10/07/12 11:36 AM10/07/12 11:36 AM #2 Pretty sure the Expensive Daewoo t56 has a completely different case and is a different length to the ford one.could be done with a rebuild but also read before that the internals are a lot weaker. Could be completely wrong though just stuff I have read before. Best bet is to ask mal wood. Edited 10/07/12 11:37 AM10/07/12 11:37 AM by Paulie2256
10/07/12 12:08 PM10/07/12 12:08 PM #4 Pretty sure the only difference is the Expensive Daewoo box has smaller input shaft, and taller 6th gear. VE HSV uses TR6060 also. Edited 10/07/12 12:09 PM10/07/12 12:09 PM by Impellor
10/07/12 12:17 PM10/07/12 12:17 PM #5 Haven't taken much notice to physical differences between the two when servicing. But honestly without being bieast the Expensive Daewoo box feels like a pile of snot compared to the typhoon box in my falcon.Second is like a kilometre from first and it takes multiple goes to get it in reverse without crunching.
10/07/12 12:21 PM10/07/12 12:21 PM #6 I believe the input shafts are different lengths (early VE is different to VT-VZ well).Edit: Impellor beat me to it Edited 10/07/12 12:22 PM10/07/12 12:22 PM by _Velocity_
24/07/12 11:08 PM24/07/12 11:08 PM #7 CAN OF WORMS!!! There is over 200 different T56 transmissions... I assume tufgia is wanting to fit this to his XF???You could use a VZ 6L box, as they have the same length input shaft. You will need to run a smaller internal diameter spigot bearing, fab up a crossmember, and change the shifter. They an electronic speedo output, which you will need to convert form sine wave to hall effect. The LS1 T56 and XR6T shifter position is pretty much identical. I have an XR6T T56 in my VE SS-V work ute. 11ty billion times better than the original box that was in the car!
