December 23, 200322 yr #1 Finished off my twin 2.5 system yesterday. I've had a Manta centre muffler, mandrel bent with twin 2.5s, anyway I fitted the compatable rear muffler yesterday in anticipation of fitting the new intercooler. Wouldn't you know it another $400 down the drain drone drone drone. It gets bloody annoying when all these people want to do is exagerate and grab your money. Their excuse, the fitters, is that they wanted a sports system that sounded sporty, their opinion of a sporty sound is something akin to an EA SPAK with the rear muffler chopped out. If you don't want the drone DON'T go for a MANTA rear muffler.
December 24, 200322 yr #2 Hypnodoc,I think you just like playing with the T for fun. - You must have plenty of time on your hands between appointments. We will release the APS exhaust as a separate component to purchase, early next year. This may be of interest to you. The system has no drone, sounds awesome at full throttle and clears the road at the same time ! You won't find a better quality system.APS XR6T Exhaust systemPeterAPS

I have been impressed by the APS exhaust and think its great to be able to by it on its own. Will that include the catalictic converter?Geea.

I train hypnosis to psych's and medicos and run courses once a month, they go for five days, so 25 days a month I'm lucky I have something to keep me amused, and what better than a T ?.Anyway your unichip is great and I'm a starter for your exhaust system after Feb 1st.I'm hanging to see what kind of power the unichip is going to give me with some high boost and the bigger intercooler after those FORMAZ boys get the car back on Jan 12th. I would hve spent a lot more with you guys if you had broken your kits, but I also understand you have a protocol to follow.Anyway Peter have a great xmas & New Year and keep up the good work, 'll keep you posted of the gains made with the bigger cooler. Cheers
December 26, 200322 yr #5 whats the price on the APS exaust gonna be ????????real keen to get my hands on one of them!!!
December 29, 200322 yr #6 APS exhaust sounds interesting, will it be suitable for otherwise stock cars?Any idea of price yet?Is the tip a single large oval (like stock) or twin (like Herrod)?Does it add any power/torque to stock car (stock already has a nice note, would only consider changing for power increase)?
December 31, 200322 yr #7 Author These Ts can be weird machines. I had a few days down in S/West WA, came back to Perth and disconnected the battery for half an hour as the car had been hunting then stalling at idle with the air on. Reconnected the battery fired her up stall gone, Drone significantly much less, and power feels way up. Perhaps there is ghost in the machine

To supply the complete exhaust system including the high flow 3.5" cat or the exhaust system less the cat converter. The cat converter is fully imported from Europe and is custom built to APS specs, unfortunately it is a very expensive cat designed for 450 Kws of power and to meet Euro 3 spec engine emissions, a unique combination. As with any true low restriction zero back pressure exhaust system fitted to the XR6 T, some engine management device will need to be installed to clamp the map sensors otherwise the engine will shutdown at approx. 7 psi of pressure. We use the Unichip to clamp these signals in addition the Unichip also maps fuel, ignition and boost strategies as a bonus. As for price the exhaust system less cat conveter would be approx. $1695 including GST. The exhaust system and flanges is entirely constructed in high grade 304 stainless steel, is fully tig welded and is polished to a mirror finish, and is EPA noise complient (87 db at the specified test speed). The cat converter which is flanged at both ends would be approx. $800 including GST, in any event I would appreciate any constructive feedback as to how we package the exhaust. There is no reason why the exhaust could not be fitted to a stock XR6 T Falcon, and as the boost will rise due to the decrease in exhaust system back pressure no doubt there will be good power gains to be had.
