Limits

Hi guys,

For the last few weeks ive been scrolling through countless posts - in search of the limits for all the standard peformance parts for my FG F6

I know the information is there, but people have alot of different ideas..I was hoping to post this to see if I can get a general idea so I can formulate the package to go with

For the items below, what are the general power limits for each part? or should I be looking at things as a package rather then the individual part?

Stock;

Actuator=

Intake=

Cooler=

Exhaust=

Valve springs=

Injectors=

and anything else I missed?

Thanks!

Those mods wiill give you 350atw

hmm do you really need to change actuator and injectors?

how much power will a standard fg f6 on hold?

Package.

As for limits there is more to it.

How much power do you want? Do you want it everyday or just for the track? What fuel do you want to use?

FG F6's can make very good power/ run good times with a virtually standard setup using E85.

All those parts performance will be better with supporting mods. So can't put a no on each part.

Example stock actuator on stock exhaust = 300

Full exhaust and someone could bullsh*t there way to 400. Not recommended at all though.

It's hard to say what power you want when you have never had it haha, so I think more in terms of money for value. First round of mods will be 5-6k (which is ready to go) then another 5k by the end of the year , I thought if I could figure out the limits of each part I could choose my parts that way.. But as pointed out that's not the way to choose..

I don't know much about e85, but I guess you could say I'm chasing a power that is safe for the car and 'hopefully' won't lead to breakages ect. It's a daily driver but as I work away alot of the year it's definately a 'toy' so I want to have high power :).. I'd never in my life say I had too much power that's for sure!

Of you have an e85 bowser near you go for it.

But If it's going to sit for a month at a time it'll go off n make a mess of the tank n lines.

Have you had a chat to tuner yet?

5-6k is enough for a good cooler kit like nizpro/ PW etc (2k), injectors, dump and cat, xcal and tune..

I think that would come in around the 6k mark,

WIll contact him when I get home, but the car could be started daily while im at work if needed.

Valve springs or dump pipe for the Fg's do you think?

In reference to this topic I presume the valve springs have a lower rwkw limit then the dump pipe? (from what ive read)

Valve springs are not always required in FG's. Some will need them at almost standard power levels, some won't need them at over 400rwkw.

I'd leave the dump if you plan on a full exhaust later on, But I'd say at least change the cat to a high flow one.
