I am currently in the waiting phase  for my new 'T' and have been reading the boards to grow in the ways of the 'T' :hrmm: . Here be my question to those that are wise, (take that as you will).

If you were to take delivery of a Brand New 'T' today what go faster options would you add, modify or change to improve power/performance without affecting the warranty.

If possible list a approximate cost for comparisons.

I know that a lot of stuff be here in the forum but for us who know not much about the mechanical aspects it would be good to have a 'T' Step by Step for Dummies!

Hi GJ,

I think you will find that no one will warranty the chip upgrade and depending on which dealer you talk to the muffler removal is no sure thing either.

The general concensus among dealers I think (Correct me if I'm wrong guys) is that modifications from the cat back are ok.

Having said that I know of a WRX owner who changed his rear muffler and was denied warranty so be careful.

At the end of the day it really is a case of not being able to have your cake and eat it too.

Mine only has 500km on the clock and I have already lowered, removed centre muffler and installed SS induction BMC filter. Chip to follow soon.

If I get bounced for warranty then there is no one else to blame but me and I will cop it on the chin.

If you are at all worried about warranty then my advise is just enjoy it stock, they are a great car anyway. :hrmm:

Warranty is a complicated issue, but the way I understand it is that your wty is only affected to the extent of your mods. By this I mean that if you have a chip installed and your shocks s#*t themselves, they will be covered as there is no relation to your mod. BUT, if your ECU packs up you could be up that creek we all know so well!

In regards to warranty issues with dealers you probably stand a better chance if you get your car serviced by a recoginised say Ford/Herrod dealer for example etc..
