  • Does the SmartStart system require a Viper alarm to operate?
The Viper Smart Start will work as a standalone unit (utilising 4 outputs and 1 input) or in conjunction with a Viper Alarm (5902/5702/5202/3303/3302V). Please note that when used without a Viper alarm some functions may not be available.

  • What alarm should I fit the system with if I require remote start?
    Viper Alarm 5902/5702/5701/5601/5904/5704.

They way I read that it will work without but not all of the functions, and remote start is one of the functions that requires the alarm. Who said it wouldn't work with the FG?

That was a reply back from viper. I used the contact on the website. I was looking into remote starts anyway- this would have been great as it takes me 10 mins to get outside work after I finish- would be nice to just jump in and drive.

More research required here. Ppl have made it work with the canbus interface. The hardest thing is the pid u need to fool the Bem into thinking the pats control is seeing a key at the transponder

would work well if you have an auto, manuals you would have to leave it out of gear all the time if your starting up from outside the car which ssuuuccckkkssss

Managed to start my last car in gear, handbrake wasnt on hard enough to stall it. Stalled when it ran into the fence, no damage to the car just busted the fence a bit.

Thought it sounded like it was running rough from inside the house...
