Hello All,

Im after some suggestions to an issue my car has been having for the past couple of weeks. It has now been to Ford twice (6 hours Labour) and they have said it was the ignition coil relay but each time after around 50km the car stalls countless times while driving with different codes coming up.

The car drives perfect until it shut down, no miss fire, it's as if the key gets turned off. Will do it at any speed and it usually does it while cruising at a constant speed or if you are coming up to a corner and the rev's drop and then it stalls.

The car is a BA 2003 Auto, tuned 268rwkw with around 90k on the clock.

The latest codes that have come up are;

P2105

P0325

P0235

This was after a reflash on the side of the road and only a 5 minute drive home, but I have had other random codes.

Could a faulty TPS or a faulty knock sensor cause random codes.

I have checked all the earths, replaced the battery so that's all good and the car will be going to a Auto Elec next week, just after some opinions on what it could be. Ford said they had there master tech on the car but who knows?

Thanks for any input guy's

Dave.

Hey mate mine even though an FG threw out some similar codes.. Thought it was TPS.. Ford wiped the codes and advised I put a new battery in. No further issues. How old is your current battery? Mine was 3 years old and on its way out. Put in a 630 cca battery for safety sake.

Replaced the battery today with the same size you suggested, mine was only 2 years old but thought it rules one thing out.

Cheers

Dave.

Taken it for a spin since the battery change? I don't know how accurate it is but I was told that the sensors are generally fairly hardy units and it's supposedly rare for them to fail. So if the battery didn't make any difference I'm stumped.

Yeah mate, once I finished work I headed down the freeway for about 20 minutes and all seemed fine but once I got back in town it stalled again so the battery made no difference.

Yuck.. You tried cleaning out the throttle etc?

It's Clean, but haven't been game to pull it apart since the intercooler and pipping was fitted

got gauges, could be cutting out due to low oil pressure...

No gauges, but can the XCAL help log anything useful. Never try to data log but worth giving it a try maybe?

Pitlane, Don't think it's tune related as I had done over 800km since it was tuned before it started playing up

Bosch 986 42lb, flow matched and it idles perfect, however it does dip a little with the airconditioner on when stopping at lights to around 500rpm then bumps back up.
