So I would question whether its better quality and sounding than a decent aftermarket.......but if you are right, then that's an indictment on the aftermarket parts industry for the $$ they charge.

The mufflers are straight through design, albiet large. Because of this they retain heat which can lead to baffle failure if the car 'lives' on a dyno. Other than that, they can actually support resonable power together with a 100cpsi cat. Also, they're S/S so will outlast any mild steel system.

Probably not enough for what you're chasing though and yes, tune required.
