Ok, after a machine job to get rid of the glazed surface and some ferodo formula pads my ordeal is over.

My car got towed to my dealer on Thursday night, and I got him back tonight.

I took it dead easy on the way home, using gears to slow down, hardly touching brakes, but when touching making sure it was consistent and not touchy touchy.

The pedal feels a lot stronger, no where near as spoungy as when I got the new rotors and bendix pads. And for sure no where near as spoungy when my bendix ultimates caved in (sadly they threw them away so no pics)

I'll bring him in for a brake fluid flush some time this week / early next week, so hopefully everything will be run in by then.

One bonus I can think of now is no more squeal when I'm not using the brakes, but only time will tell...hopefully it will stay like this.

that's good to here, I hope it all goes well for you, what actually happend to the Ultimates?

Well when I first got them they were about 1.5 - 2cm thick (just a guess), now they are 2 - 3mm thick. One of the bricks on the ultimates ripped straight off. I got them way too hot....

Second day driving, and no squeal yet, not even under braking. I haven't been using them hard though, so will let you know next week how they are going.

Might consider changing to a higher spec brake fluid too mate.

They advised me against it.

Something about the brake lines not being used to it, and making them break easier..

Cro did the dealer tell you how to bed in the brakes properly so they last longer and don't glaze up.

This is the first thing I did when I picked up my T when it was new.

I have not had any problems with my brakes except they are too small for the ute when I have a big load in the back and they dont pull up for sh#t when driving Spiritedly

DBA Steve should be able to tell you the correct way to bed in the brakes.

heres how I did it:

Find a quite road where you can safely get up to 120 kph

Get the car up to operating temp and do a few moderate stops to get some temp in the brakes.

Then proceed to do a series (5 to 10) of hard stops from say 110kmph down to 70 letting the brakes cool in between stops. best way to cool is driving at around 10- 20 kmph so as not to cool too qiuickly.

They didn't tell me, but I know how to do it. Sadly I don't have time (between being sick, work, personal crap). So I've been taking it as easy as I can in peak hour.

I've had one or two moderate stops where I've been faced with an amber traffic light knowing I won't make it through..

How come the car had to be towed to the dealer Cro?

My front brakes didn't work, I was relying on my rears only which didn't do much. I drove it home from Goulburn without much traffic, but got it towed at night because I didn't want to go through peak hour with no front brakes in the morning.
