Tried searching the forum, but I couldn't find anything definitive.

A recent track day at Wakefield Park highlighted the issue of brake fade after 10mins or so. While I realise 6/4 brakes are the way to go, I don't think my budget can reach that far.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a suitable upgrade, and their opinion on it?

Dot 5.1 fluid?

Braided lines?

Any help appreciated!!

Fluid and braided lines will certainly help.

What pads are u running ? I am running Bendix Road Street Track and find them a great pad

with good bite and little fade coupled with DBA slotted rotors as I cracked the slotted and drilled

from factory.

Much better than the OEM set up with 4 pot

edit, mines a silly old BF

Cheers, I've heard good things about him/Race Brakes.

Just got the factory Brembo 4/1 set up, the car has only done 13,000kms. Even when driving around town the pedal just doesn't have that bite on previous cars I've owned/driven. that's the 1800kg curb weight I guess...

Change pads mate. Most driver critise the 4 potters for being too bitey! Im running remsa's from Matt @ Race Brakes. They are proving to be a very good pad

Any improvement with brake fade? More bite would be great, but not having the pedal go through the floor at the end of the main straight would also be confidence inspiring!!

I'm sure Matt @ Racebrakes will be able to sort me out. Will post when I have some results to share.

Braided lines and a bleed to make sure there isnt any air in the lines would also be a good thing to look into, but see how you go after chatting to Matt, some new pads, lines and a bleed is my bet, cheap and not a hard task with 2 people.

When was the last time you changed the brake fluid ? Brake fluid must be replaced after 2 years or do it after each track day. You can get bleed kits to do it yourself.

The Brembos will be fine for the occasional track day, so I would look more at fluid and pads. The Braided lines will just give you a more solid pedal.

Cool, thanks for the info, will keep that in mind. The car is only 18 months old, so coming up to its first brake fluid change I guess. Will Get this done at the same time I upgrade pads/lines etc...

Go to a 600 or 660 Brake Fluid if you do occassional Track Days.

You could also ring John, at 'V- Sport' in Arndell Park re, your Pads, etc.

He has some 'very good' deals on 6' spot Brembos for the front.
