Plenty of threads out there for sedans, but nothing really about the utes....Now after reading all over the forums about the mod being $100 and blah blah I thought that sounded great, then I went to the exhaust shop and realised the Utes go from a single in to the muffler and come out double....Now what have you guys done? Put in a Y Piece, single into twin? The exhaust shop quoted me $300 to do that all with flanges so I can drop the resonator if need be and place stock muffler back into place.Any comments, pictures and or videos would be greatly appreciated.Cheers Andrew Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/77260-fg-turbo-centre-muffler/ Share on other sites

I wouldnt bother with the flange option, but that's my opinion. Only option is the Y-piece I think. I just hope it won't whistle with that sharp edge inside where the two pipes join. Sounds good can hear it mostly around 1800-2200rpm has a nicer deep note to it now.Would there be much difference in sound if you went with the single straight through (3/3.5") instead of the twin? Ike New Member 23 Member For: 17y 11m 17d Posted 11/11/11 10:31 PM Author Share Posted 11/11/11 10:31 PM Well I finally got around to doing the exhaust, had a few busy weekends! And the end result is awesome, definitely not to loud!Idle is quiet, you can somewhat hear that it isnt the standard sound. When you accelerate a little at cruising speed you can hear a nice sharp note.To me it sounds like a quieter version of a skyline. What I ended up going for was just the 3" straight pipe that goes to one side of the muffler then there is a join that bends a little into the other side of the muffler. If you would like some pictures let me know and ill post.Over all it is the best $150 spent! Sounds great Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/77260-fg-turbo-centre-muffler/#findComment-1158815 Share on other sites
