Hi all

Just a heads up with my experience with these tyres.

About 20 months ago I had my tyre/ brake shop in Sydney source me

a set of Marangoni Mythos 245/35/19" tyres for the Phoon.

There were no Smokehama V 103s avaiable in this size in the country so I took these ,

at my suggestion.

The shop had to order them in and gave me a great deal as they always did .

Results.... Great traction wet and dry

Problems... had one tyre with less than 20k on the clock completely delaminate outside of Toowoomba

causing to have to buy 2 Falckens so as to not be running 3 differing tyres on the car..

After a check/service by Elite it was dsicovered that the remaining rear Marangonis were delaminating on the inside

of the tyre~ 22500ks

These tyres cost me over $400 each and I got less than an overall less than 50% wear.

Not to mention the safety of my kids, tyres completly , full delamination at any speed is scary, let alone @ 80ks+

Piss poor, IMO

There are many possible causes, the car is always garaged so it aint the weather

My hat goes off to Baulkam Tyre King , I have spent alot of money with these guys and

could not recommend them highly enough.

They know their stuff They got the tyres in , in good faith and are vigourous in their pursuit of a suitable outcome.

So all you Hill Billys get on down and have a chat for the right rubber for you

You're talking about the one opposite Cook St on Windsor Rd? (Just making sure I'm not confusing it)

Mytho's where my hero tire for ages until I had one deflate on me over night. Tire shop striped it and found delamination inside the tire under the shoulder and bead seat. Im not sure they are up to the heat experienced here in summer.

Under inflated tyres and camber will delaminate ANY tyre. It makes the sidewall heat up heaps!

I'm not saying that Is the reason for this, but it's a reminder to always have tyres pumped up. Few extra psi if your car has some camber

My experience with Mythos wasnt great either. I found they started out well, then turned to sh*t very quickly.

Also had loads of cracks around the sidewall and the fronts had to be replaced because they were egging.

I tried to price another set of Mythos last week and was told there was none in the country for at least 6 weeks. I opted for KU31's today and after reading this thread this afternoon am glad I went that way this morning. However I didnt have a fault with the Mythos until about 25k then they just got a bit slippery and from past experience with the 19" tyre you are lucky if this doesnt happen after 20k. Bit concerned about the price you paid though Buffy mine cost me $275 each for the same tyre 18 months ago?
