Fg Xr Rims On A Bf F6?

HI ALL

I'm just wondering if it is possoble to get FG XR 19's to fit on the front of a BF F6? I tried and they dont clear the brembos. Is it possible to space them out without scrubbing out on the guard? possibly with rolling the guard as well.

I already have these and spending a little bit to get them on will be heaps cheaper than getting new one's. Then I can put the cash towards bilsteins & keep the prices down which in turn keeps the missus happy = WIN WIN. It has SL springs in the front and I will not compromise this.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Were the rims already on the car no good? Crystal Vaults or something?

Not many people put lower spec car rims on their halo brands!

How much do they need to be spaced out for them to clear the Brembos? I made up small perspex spacers (approx 3cm x 3cm squares with a hole drilled in the middle) and put them over the studs and slipped the rim on. I ended up needing two layers of the spacers in order to clear the Brembos with a few mm clearance. I then measured the thickness of the spacer, then measured stuff like the rotors hub diameter and with info such as the PCD 114.3 x 5 I got a spacer made up. I then painted it once I got it with high temp paint and that's been working fine for me since! The tyre has rubbed on the guard a few times very minor, but that's only under very hard cornering with hard braking.

I think spacers are illegal and may void insurance (best to check this first before you go ahead) but if that doesn't bother you I say go for it. You don't see the FG XR 19's around that much where as the Argents and Twisty's are common as, I think it would look ok.

Sorry I should have been more clear, but yeah like Freeze said, I only used the perspex as a guide to see what thickness I needed, then got the actual spacer laser cut from a metal plate of the correct thickness.

I just assumed the perspex was for a template or to guage the required thickness in the first place. who would even think that mike was actually going to use perspex on the car. hahaha
