Hey guys

I picked up 2 achilles atr sports for the rear the other week. I got 245/40 r18's.

I have noticed a huge difference from the maxxis maav1's or what ever they were I had on before. I only paid 190 each fitted and balanced as well.

I cant say anything about how they go on the track but around the streets there great :D

So if anyone is looking for a good cheap tyre I would recommend these :icon_ford:

I got a set for the rear 245/35/19 I know they are achilles, think they are same model as yours, without checking. I found them quite grippy compared to the dunflops. I did notice that they only have 1ply sidewall strength compared to dunlops 2 ply. So the rear end feels sloppy. Not bad, bit more fun. :3gears:

One other thing I noticed was when accidentally breaking traction, it will leaves marks, but seem to powder up so will clear very quickly. Which can be good,.. no evidence. Did hear if they heat up alot they tend to bubble, dont wish to find out though.

The sidewalls on mine cracked severely after 9000k's.

Wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I have them in 245x30x20 and put them on the back. They do grip well, but too me they appear very unstable at high speed. I ended up putting them on the front and putting my non-grippy nankangs on the rear.

I won't be buying them again.

I know they are different tyres but I thought it might be of interest, I put some Groundforce Progrip (cheapies) on the rear of the work ute ($140 fitted) and yes they were better than my expensive Falcans in the dry. But when I was going home from work one evening in the rain I got about 1km up the road and had to swerve slightly to miss an oncoming car that was in my lane, slight swerve back end lost traction and ended up hitting a tree at 80km/h and let me tell you it was not fun.

So in my opinion it is not worth putting cheap chinese rubber on unless it's just to do a skid (at the track of course) and then put your good tyres back on. :3gears::3gears::3gears:
