Idle Issues

Hey guys.

Got some Idle issues.

When I start the car any time it idles at 1000rpm and does about 4.4 l/hr

I also have a BA XT and that only idles at 700 rpm and drinks 1.2 l/hr

I also looked on a mates xr6 turbo and it idles at 700 and only does about 2 l/hr

When I change it to reverse or drive it drops to 750 rpm but still does 4.4 l/hr until I go for a drive. When I pull up to a set of lights it goes down to about 2.2 l/hr

I just thought it seems a bit odd

Mine idles at around 1000rpm in park and in gear around 750 rpm when cold started, but warmed up its arount 700 park and 550 in gear. Fuel consumption dont know.

when you say anytime,even when the car warms up. if it's idling at 700rpm warm,I thinks that's to high. I'm like GSD112 and when warm about 1.3/4 l/hr.

Just went out and checked consumption @ warm idle 1.3 l/hr

Ill have a look tomorrow. But in park it sits on 1000 rpm but in D it drops to 750

Cold idle in P = ~750RPM. In D ~650RPM.

When warm in P = 500-550RPM. In D ~ the same.

Consumption in D when warm and stopped = 1.3 - 1.4 L/H

That's it.
