I have an autometer gauge with the sender unit that screws into somewhere in the engine.

I have had a look to see if someone has a qrite up on this part of the gauge intall but had no luck, maybe I wasnt looking hard enough I guess.

Is there somewhere that we screw the sender unit into such as the oil feed to the turbo or do we need to use a sandwich plate on the oil filter?

Just thought I would ask before I go out and buy a sandwich plate.

Does anyone have photos?

Thanks

Adam

You've got two options.

1, Alot of guys have got a T piece that goes on the turbo oil feed at the block, you then have your send and the cars original sender going to it.

2, Sandwich plate on the oil filter and put it in there.

There is a thread with it. Here it is Linky!

Nemisis. Which oil line did you use?

I'm sick of my sandwich plate leaking - every time my cars on a hoist it makes J cry :crybaby:

You don't have a pic do you?

Hey dude long time no speak. I used an ETM line and got the optional adapter port. Should be easy enough to do if your line already has speedflow fittings, just get the speedflow fitting with the 1/8" hole/port. Shouldn't be more than about $15.

The fitting looks like this:

http://www.speedflow.com.au/adapters.html - second row first item. Just need the correct size for your line.

Don't have a pic of it in the car but will take one when I put it on the hoist. The only issue my mechanic said was that it didn't ground properly, but he just threw a ground wire on it and its perfect, out of the way and no leaks. I'm stoked with it.

bump...I have an earls turbo feed line and was wondering what size is the above speed flow fitting with the 1/8 port??? and as I have oil pressure and oil temp I was just going to then tee out of that one port for the 2 senders. Will this all work is there enough room down there or should I just get a sandwich plate?

The standard banjo bolts are 1/4npt so if the earls kit is direct replacement I would imagine them being the same, I have just put the VDO 230.032 Brass T in the back of the banjo bolt on the block so that the sensor for the car is in that and my 1/8 gauge sensor in the side. No issues so far no leaks, other people have done the same only one person had the T break but I dont know if that may have been a bad part or what caused it.

Oh come on girls whats wrong with the sandwich plate? Just because you have to do it up tight or it leaks like the titanic.... I found the sandwich plate the best option - easy to install, easy to get to etc
