Simple Injector Question

Featured Replies

#1

Hey guys,

My injectors are shot, so its my best chance to get upgraded ones, but will I need a tune??

Im looking at 42lb's delphi/lucas injectors.

I have no other mods other than k&n filter.

I've searched the forum for hours and keep getting different and mixed answers.

I am planning to get new exhaust and new intercooler in the next 3 months if that helps.

Cheers

Steve

What model is it, and what info are you actually after.

Yes you will need to tune too run 42Lb injectors. Stock injectors are 36Lb. Why do you think your injectors are stuffed?

It's a standard ba Xr6t 4spd. Have been told by two separate mechanics that it's injectors, car spluttering at idle and take off. A 1990 Hyundai is quicker at the moment :(

seriouslt doubt its injectors. I'd start with the usuals like fuel filter, plugs, coils etc etc.

Done filter, no difference. Tried injector cleaner, made it run decent for 4 days...

Injector cleaning is possible if you have a blocked injector, it will be cheaper than replacing a set, we have seen a couple of cars with dirty injectors that have come good after we clean and flow test them.

Your best bet is to get a used set of OEM injectors because with anything else you will need a tune.

Post in the Wanted Classifieds section, I am sure there are many sets laying around doing nothing.

I have a couple of sets of stock injectors if you go down the that road
