Hi Everyone.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced something similar to what I am experiencing.

When I drive smoothly, with no hard hitting acceleration, I obviously up my gears. 1st and 2nd is smooth, but when I enter 3 it is smooth pretty much all the way through but once the revs get a little higher at cruising speed, It feels like it upd a gear to 4 as the revs go down a little but really its still in 3rd. Its weird but it has been there for a while. It only happens when I cruise. If I thrash, this issue never occurs.

The gearbox is pretty mint as it has never slipped on me, but this issue has been happening for a while to my car. Tuner said it was a good box aswell. It is a stock BTR 4 SPD.

any oppinions?

Thanks.

Is this in performance or Nanny mode ?

It's perhaps just the intuitive learning technology.

Take it for several harsh thrashes or disconnect and reconnnect the battery.

I'm sure I used to be able feel the converter lock up when I got to a good cruise speed with my BTR and yes it kinda felt like another gear.

Yep ^

Pretty sure it's just the torque converter - Happens to me too :spoton:

stock 4sp's have a convertor?

Back to school for you :stirthepot:

Lockout is in 3rd and fourth, it gets rid of heat when cruising and also gives it 6 gears in terms of revs.

that's why hi-stalls are useless to cruise with as it removes the lockout and generates plenty of heat...
