Hello guys I have been thinking over a couple of weeks about a conversion to take out my current engine, transmission and diff and swap it all over with a BF or FG xr6 turbo running gear I need some info to back up my theory and would this be quite a easy conversion and also what would be the costs involved I have seen a xr6 turbo engine and ZF transmission sell for around 7.5k on ebay at one point. If I was to do this I would change the running gear everything from engine to diff. I need some opinions as to which shops would do these types of conversions in Melbourne south eastern preferably. Looking forward to everyone opinions on this.

Thnx Tim.

if the engine and tranny are out of a fg don't buy it. another member on here bought a motor out of a fg which it was not. I think the seller on ebeay has been doin this for a while, selling motors out of ba's and selling them as fg's. just be carefall when buying and get it all in writing. just go in advance search and type in is anyone a lawyer. and theres a link there.

pazzo - that was me, the engine was an fg and was bought direct not off ebay. It was meant to be an '10 model but was built mid '08.

I'm gunna lose out big time on it. Bought a brand new fg f6 bottom end then got the head from the dud motor cleaned, machined, crack tested, pressure tested and checked over and got it assembled as a long motor with plugs, coils and wiring. All up it's cost me very close to $12k on that engine and I know I will get not much back when I sell it. Selling it because I bought an Atomic 698 engine off here.

ZST8U - FTG are awesome to deal with, very professional and great service.
