Yeah that's wat I dont get like it looks flash but you still gotta put the key in and turn it to on/acc posittion and then hit the red button, I reckon it might get a bit pointless after the novelty wears off.

nah I wired one into my ef. never get sick of it, and it still starts with the key so if your by yourself you can just keep rotating the key to start, and use the button if you want to hear 'ooh ahhh' from passengers. :3gears:

I did it because its cool and looks cool.

it is a pointless feature but so are my 20" inch wheels when my stock 19"s went round and round perfectly.

plus the new XR5 has push button ignition and I want it to :3gears:

I'm a hardware engineer so my next port of call will be to remove the need for the key all together.

I'll install an RFID chip into my flippy key thing so it will allow me to start the car once the keys are in the car, exactly how AUDI does it.

that way when I hop in the car I can leave the keys in my pocket and the push button will light letting me know the car is now ready to be started, it will take me a while but should be good fun along the way

Mondeo XR5 Turbos have the keyless start thing. Maybe a module or something from them might work in the Falcons with a bit of modifying?

yer I think the XR5 focus has that as well, but I think you can stop the car with the button while its running! so you wouldn't want to accidentally knock the switch.

a simple write up for those who wanted it

The switch will come with a wiring loom that has 1 connector at one end and 2 connectors at the other end, you need to run the cable so that the single connector will sit where your putting the switch and the other end you need to feed up your steering column.

On the under side of your steering column housing there are 3 screws, undo these and drop the bottom plastic out. Then behind your ignition barrel you will see a white connector plugged into a black connector, undo this connection and put the 2 connectors in line with these and your all done!

Put the key in, turn it to on and then the button will light up showing its ready to be used, push the button and the car will start.

Your car wont start by turning the key anymore
