Mic the reference to goat tracks before was just a joke...before I'd even finalised the route. There is probably about 2-3km all up as described (single lane bitumen with gravel shoulders) which means you only have to move half-off the bitumen if there's oncoming traffic. Nothing to be alarmed at.
