hey guys a mate of mine has a ba xr6 n/a he had an argument with the mechanic so all he has done is installed the valve springs.

Are the cams easy to install? (with basic mechanical knowledge)and if so does antone have photos or a write up on how to install these. and is there a certain way to put them in eg: like the old dizzy's.

the cams he has are not crow cams its from a company from WA which they say there is no stages but will increase power ??????

cheers in advance

If you have no experience in this area, I would strongly advise against it.

You can cause too much damage by incorrectly installing a cam.

Take it to a good mechanic to have it done.

Agreed :3gears:

If you take things off in the wrong order or put the cam brackets in in te wrong order or over tighten you can cause some real issues - definitely find a new mechanic

The cams and springs are in place just need to put the brackets in and a new timing chain in. Are v6 cam installation similar to the i6 as I know someone who has installed plenty of v6 cams

I rebuilt my motor with a mate who is a heavy earthmoving fitter, the turbo's he's used to are 2 person lifts, and the pistons ar 20kg lol. He was an unbeleivable help... as long as you use someone who inderstands timing, you're sweet, but you'll be in need of a tune anyway.
