I would think that your warranty would take a hike

You really shouldn't have to even ask that question.... take a wild stab in the dark at the answer.

If you are not prepared to take that risk, don't mod it - simple.

One thing you need to remember is that you don't just have one all encompassing warranty on your car. Essentially every nut and bolt has it's own individual warranty.

The Australian watchdog people got into this a few years back and the law now stats along these lines

"The fitment of aftermarket accessories or performance enhancing products does not in itself void manufacturer's warranty. Owners who choose to enhance their vehicles whilst still under manufacturer's warranty do so at their own risk; but are covered by legislation under the Federal Trade Practices Act. If a modification can be proven to be the singular cause of a failure, only then can a manufacturer legally refuse a claim"

Exert from an email APS sent me.

But yeah as Turbo6 stated, be prepared for it to all go wrong.

Exactly dude.

And be prepared to accept responsibilty for it - don't bl__dy whinge about it after the fact - blame no-one but yourself.

Mind you, IF my gearbox lets go all you blokes are going to be bleeding from the ears!

Have they (Ford) got a stance on the Manual gearbox failing due to increased engine output?

I'm looking at getting a manual when I am ready for my next work car (keeping the current one for a toy) and just know I will mod it, but don't want to have the same black cloud hanging over me that I do with my current car!

Cheers

welcome bwhinnen I think ford wouldn't wanna replace it, haven't heard of too many manuals grenading yet (heard of one). APS say upgrading the clutch is the option. Apparently they haven't had too many issues and they have been really loading the power (and torque) on! ;)

rapt,

Know the problem well my friend, know it well.

Had a head full of lustrous hair and the rippling, gleaming body of Adonis before I got my T.

Now, the effects of the frightening gravitational forces are showing. Hair wrenched from my scalp, massive chest formation forced downwards, some more hair forced to grow on the back in an effort to stay aboard, brain memory malfunction due to increased bloodflow, etc etc.

Ah well, that the price we pay.

Welcome to this strange but somehow wonderful place...............

Yes. there are more like me. You'll meet them soon I'm sure.
