Yer, the FG one does seem to sit further back going by the pics, compared to mine anyway.

It is the same sized sunroof though..

ok I rang prestige today was quoted $2195 fitted with roof stiffener system .also said can keep sunglass holder.has pics on his site $185 extra for rain sensor.

I thought not bad .

so went back to custom $2150 plus rain sensor to see if could keep sunglass holder and if he uses roof stiffeners.told me no to sunglass holder as it comes up poorly.mainly large distance from headlinng to sun shade,angles etc he wont do.wanted an extra $185 for roof stiffeners said not needed.he comes highly recomended from a window tinter friend and does the whole job himself .I can tell the guy is fussy and would do a good job .but prestige would be about $430 cheaper, including the new over head light,not worried about the $ just want a good job with the head linning.......anyone had one done on a g6et with sunglass holder intact by prestige with pics ...........

you can't really tell just from the pics as from the other pic the angle changes everything... in this one it looks further forward

It isn't from prestige but they all use standard placement measurements.

ok thanks for the pics timbos99 .ill go to prestige and check him out .custom also said if done your way might be gaps where light comes in from front edge when shade is closed .is yours good and tight/dark? ill prob go with prestige as I like the sunny holder and its a $320 item from ford that ive been told cant be fitted to cheap xr6,s due to roof linning shape!

yeah shuts fine, no gap. The only beifit of non-sunnies light is where the switch is mounted looks better.

I do get a rattle from my sunroof so maybe the brace would've stopped this. The guy who fitted it has adjusted several times and it stops for awhile, but eventually comes back, however I do live on/drive on Brisbane's sh*tty inner city roads.

I went to prestige had a look around ,spoke to steve they just got rid of an fg that they done they ring me when they have another one ,as I want to see the job they do on head linning with sunglass holder intact .ill prob get them to do it ok for $2195 with roof stiffeners.

I'll give you one of my favourite sayings - "screw it, just do it!" you can talk and think about it forever of you just get in there, be the next FG yourself.

As long as they use a material that matches in colour everything else will be fine... just bite the bullet

OK - good news!

I now have matching beige handle/switch instead of the black I had.... haha

On a more 'publicly' interesting note, it seems installing into an FG is quite normal now, just book it in and get it done..

The FG isn't anything unusual, special, wrongly designed etc.. its just a car with a support in the roof where they now need to move the support in fitment of an electric glass sunroof.

Book it in and enjoy it asap!
