Don't forget the Canon S90 if you want to spend a little more.

I'm glad you've come around to my way of thinking about the D50. :surrenderwave:

lol yeah I have, I DO want new.

Im surprised at the S90's only 3.8x zoom though for the price, as good as it may be, it still dips out in the zoom

Well I never ended up getting a call from the bloke about the D50, so I continued researching my options.

Ive decided to curb my impatience and wait a few weeks and buy a brand new DSLR.

Ive narrowed it down to the Pentax K-X.

Now I need to decide witch kit I want.

The one with the Sigma 17-70mm: Seems to be a very highly rated everyday lens with great macro ability, which im interedted in using.

OR

One of the twin Pentax lens kits.

These come with a 18-55mm Lens + 50-200mm lens from AU only.

But if I buy from overseas I can get for around the same price a twin kit except the larger one is a 55-300mm I think.

Mate, I seriously think for a DSLR you should be either looking at Canon or Nikon. They perform the best and have the best glass.

Well I was looking at the Nikon D3000 but no live view and that's a must for me.

And from what ive read, the Canon just doesnt match up with Pentax in this price range.

Am now looking at the Nikon D90 which currently have a $200 cash back offer if bought from a Nikon Authorised Reseller which means no Grey Imports. Offer ends on April 30 so gives me a few pay checks to save about $1600 bux or so.

I figure the best way might be to get Officeworks to beat someone like Ryda or Digital Camera Warehouse or Teds on one of the Twin Lens Kits.

I know youll be happy about this decision Adam :beerchug:

Yeah, sounds good.

From what I've read Officeworks will price match.
