March 4, 201016 yr #1 Well I had to go to Fraud and make a claim for an issue with the gear knob. What has happened is the glue for whatever reason (bad glue maybe) hasn't been able to handle sunlight and started unsticking itself and discolouring because of this.So went in they took photos and wow they didn't try get out of it. Brand new knob fitted today, took them 30ish minutes cause the factory one was loctited on so damn well that they had to remove the whole lever and work on it in the shop. Now it looks like this and am for a change happy with their service. While there I asked the man workshop man about the pre-turbo filter and he knew it was there and said they dont remove it or do anything to it in the way of servicing. He also didn't really know what it was for, he thought maybe it was a restrictor for the flow. When I told him how people had problems caused by it he didn't know that it could cause a turbo failure.
March 5, 201016 yr #2 Glad they could see to your knob. I often wonder about the turbo oil filter/screen thing but the guide to clean it in these forums looks to hard. Perhaps its too hard for Ford as well.
March 5, 201016 yr #3 I've had my FG Gear Knob Replaced 3 times. No questions asked. The leather keeps coming off.
March 5, 201016 yr #4 The leather on my knob spins around, but I don't really mind, it reminds me that its real leather around a chunk of metal, and makes me proud its not some plastic knob like a lexus or mercedes.I love my knob Edited March 5, 201016 yr by dashturbo
