January 31, 201016 yr #1 This nice looking big surge tank on ebay. $400.Surge TankYay or nay? And do certain tanks support certain power? As in will this support over 400rwkw? Or do I have to ask them.
January 31, 201016 yr #2 Some will say yay. Some will say nay. It's not the tank that supports the power, it's the pump. Some don't recommend this design of tank due to it's mounting position. Others say it's fine.I guess it comes down to personal preference.
January 31, 201016 yr #3 I have this installed. Haven't had any issues with it! I'm only running low 300's though.
January 31, 201016 yr #4 Author I actually like the position as its out of view from the boys in blue and hidden. Didnt want one in the engine bay. As long as it does the same job that is.gr8xr6 did you install yourself or someone else? How long it take? Edited January 31, 201016 yr by icer
January 31, 201016 yr #5 Rear mounts work fine, we used to sell an alloy one like this but I pulled it due to the fact its not the ideal location on a road car, but each to their own.Factor in the cost of the 044 pump and 4m of EFI hose (dont use normal $5 fuel hose or it will eventuall perish) plus the fittings ect.If you want an alloy one, we have them at $450 for the basic tank.
February 1, 201016 yr #6 Although that should work, all the hoses have to modified to fit it, we have fitted many Rapid Systems surge tanks and they bolt straight in and use all original hose fittings so no hoses are modified, which is great for those that may want to return to stock for any reason or don't want fuel fire issues etc.
