T56 Lousy Shifting - Short Shifter Perhaps?

Hi Folks,

I have a manual F6 (BAII w/322rwkw) and I find the shift quality really poor, I have a hard time driving it smoothly, especially peddling hard and have often missed the shift completely & ground the gears (2nd/3rd - 4th/5th are the worst). Will a shortshifter help with this? Does anyone have experience with any particular one & would care to recommend it? I know these boxes are not slick little numbers you might find in a hot Mitsi, but still anything to improve it would be good. Cheers !

Also changing the Gearbox fluid to something like TransmaxZ or Penrite Synthetic ATF can help too.

Hi im having the same problem same car BA typhoon 300atw

has transmax Z no change, worse when cold 1st to 2nd, quite firm to select 1st when stopped at lights etc.

im maybe thinking the clutch is not fully dis engaging or tight on gearbox splines????

starting to annoy the sh*t outta me

cheers

Probably a good idea to check your clutch fluid, if its very blacky then get the fluid flushed and see how it goes - having a clutch slightly dragging can cause issues with gear selection when stopped...
