Premium Sound Amp Specs Found

I was wanting to find out specs for the premium sound amp (Sanyo - formally FMS audio), so I contacted Ford and replied with

So I decided to email Sanyo Australia, and got a guy who did a bit of research and passed on my queries to Sanyo (Japan) where the Ford amps were made.

They got back to me with the specs for the Model# 14788100 premium sound amp:

Huh?

So your telling me is a single mono block channel amp?

Not so sure about that...

I was lead to believe it was a 5ch amp...

FR, FL, RR, RL, + SUB!

Are they advising the amp is only 4ohm stable, or rather the single channel is running at 4 ohm with a "Panasonic" driver/sub?

I was always under the impression that at least the BA premium sound was only driving the sub.

As said above specs came direct from Sanyo Japan, whether they are to be taken as fact is another thing, maybe someone more technically minded with stereo can confirm there figures sound about right.

Power figures may be correct...

No question there...

100w at 1% @ 4ohm could be right...

around 50w @ 8 ohms.... so average as we thought...

However I thought (as mentioned) the amp was powering the speakers also?

I havent bothered to look since buying the F6 - if I start looking, then I start thinking, then thinking becomes buying, and buying becomes playing... and well the cycle doesnt really stop for me...

from ef/el and maybe even earlier, the amps only power the sub. Head unit/icc does the rest.

I don't know about BA\BF, but the FGs rears definately aren't powered by the amp. I disconneted the power from it. As for EF/ELs, I used to have an NL (same thing really) with premo sound and it DEFINATELY powered the rears. It was also a 4ch amp, with RCA connectors and the like. The sub was powered in bridge mode from one input (never heard stock sub as it was on gas and it was taken out to make room). I now have an FG and if someone has the wiring diagram for the amp that'd be great, cos if it has line level that'd be wicked (unfortunatly no line level for the fronts/rears.)

NL - minus sub...

Old man has a Concord Fairlane, and we had it converted to GAS... first thing after the tank was put in, we boxed out the sub behide the rear seat... moved the stacker to one side, sub on the other and it was like there was no take there (exception to 1/3 of the boot space missing)...

The amp only power the subwoofer in the factory premium audio. The rest of the speakers run of the head unit.
