Head hurts now...

Sorry, answered my own question after doing Japanese translations with babelfish...

It's a Denso system that is the same as used by Toyota, Jaguar, etc.

In the BA, Ford have taken out the touch-screen capability, and mounted the system in the right hand shelf of the boot.

The satnav device is connected to the ICC for audio and display, and the IR port is connected to the satnav RISC processor for control.

It uses a weirdass data format called KIWI-W - a japanese quasi-"standard" discussed in ISO TC204/WG3 for spatial coordination.

The DVD contains a database from a company called Pacific Access (now Sensis at www.sensis.com.au) that contains maps, GPS synch data, street names etc, information linked from Yellow Pages and voice prompting metadata.

*brain bleed*

Also looks like they have a signal-interrupt that enables you to see the dvd output on the LCD.

That would mean that it would be HELLA expensive to put the satnav in, either from factory or after market.

Oh well. No SatNav for physh... :/

I'm just going to go away and bleed out my ears for a while... *lol*

HSE - any more info you have would be great, hardware OR software.

I want to know if I can use the data from the DVD on my laptop too.
