(legal wise)im going for the 20" dark agents. ??
Guest Al@n Guests Posted 14/11/09 09:23 AM Posted 14/11/09 09:23 AM From my understanding, what you have been told is a speed rating not a load rating. These rating usually include a letter such as W, Y,Z.
Guest Al@n Guests Posted 14/11/09 09:37 AM Posted 14/11/09 09:37 AM Got that wrong, letter explains speed rating number explains load rating. 95 is a load rating of 690kgs,96 is 710 kgs. If your car is a falcon I would think 95 would be minimum rating but check tyre placard. If you get this wrong your vehicle is not roadworthy, and thus insurance is void, Cheers
Guest XR09 Guests Posted 14/11/09 09:39 AM Posted 14/11/09 09:39 AM yep 93w is goodbut I would check the legalities of 35's on 20's......I think the Zeetek are pretty square shouldered as well. Its not just your speedo being out anymore, that can end up being the least of your worries. Really not that much more noise on thirties.....mmmmmm road noise

Many of the cheap alternative brand tyres have a 91 load index rating which is illegal, however near impossibe to be picked up. Although 91 is sufficient for everyday driving, that one time when your car is loaded with gear and bodies and your on the brakes real hard, the 91 load index will not be enough, but it would be a rare situation.93 = 650Kg91 = 615KgGross weight per tyre.I.B. Guest XR09 Guests Posted 14/11/09 11:06 AM Posted 14/11/09 11:06 AM unfortunately it's law and that makes it unintelligableYour 1990 ss came out with what not sure but more than likely 60 profile 95w ??? like I said I dont know But that's what the manafactuer had on it and was ADR'd to use them.Your FGXR8 can be optioned with 19 x 245 x 35 with a 93w weighing a lot more than your 1500 cause ford adr'd them with them or think of the weight of a fully wet and loaded GTE phffft. and the bodies that be said yep same as what they said to your a bit radical 60's back then.So the law is not looking at your car and the tyre its the law looking at the required ADR figures and implementing themYour only options is to get the required engeneers certificate to run them. They that be seems to think that this is fair and just. And dont make them work any harder than they have to.
