So that will now be the worlds safest intersection Apparently the speed camera part of these new devices operates all the time, regardless of the colour of the traffic lights. From memory those in Melbourne (or is it Adelaide?) only operate on amber and red...so if you're exceeding the limit on a green light with these suckers you're still proper f*cked!

Gonna catch alot of people that speed up to run through the amber that's for sure.I love the way they says it's to slow people down, not to catch em, but they aren't signing them to make people realise and slow down. Just another cash cow for the government I guess. It might work if they publicise enough, will certainly cut down on a lot of street racing which is a good thing. Only thing I would like to know is when they are gonna start doing something about residential roads where speed is the real danger, especially to pedestrians (mainly kids riding their bikes and scooters)??

Theyve been talking about introducing 'hidden' cameras here again though. Every year NRMA produces reports saying that speed cameras do not work..Have a read of this:http://www.caradvice.com.au/36477/nsws-7million-speed-camera/Ive seen this camera go off at least 3-4 times. Cant be much crash history on day one.I.B.

What used to be the most profitable mobile speed camera site in Qld (probably still is, but haven't seen the stats for a while) is at the bottom of a hill on a very long and slight corner - dual lanes and perfect road condition that's conducive to allowing your speed to creep over the limit. I've lived in the suburb for about eight years and have never seen an accident or any sign of an accident there...so it's got me f*cked how that's saving lives? It's just getting poor unsuspecting bastards that aren't too familiar with the area and achieves absolutely nothing but raising a few $'s.

Anyone who does it through an intersection should be shot imo. Definately not the place, regardless of time.

Yep.. $338 fine coming my way.. its my xmas present to the NSW government.
