The first of you to suck it dry trying to get the fuel levels down might also be unlucky enough to be the first to completely root their fuel injectors. You dont run EFI cars down near or to empty. Its just plain DUMB. They arent the same as cars with carbies. That can be costly. If they cant be professionally cleaned, then they will need to be replaced. Likely VERY expensive litle excersize...my old car cost $995 for 6 new injectors simply from running out of fuel. (Replacing just one often isnt a good idea as it can leave different cylinders getting different mixes).Enjoy the low fuel challenge, and if you are "The lucky one" then be sure to tell me how much the injectors cost to get cleaned or replaced... I can't remember the exact figures now, but I worked out that there was still enough fuel to do much more than 7km. I wouldn't be game to take it to 0 without first testing it in this manner. I was histerical I think we know what the risks are and are just fooling with DTE ...sometimes in traffic the DTE will zoom to zero and we are unable to do anything about it except wonder how long have we got ... most of my DTEs come on country trips when premium is hard to find ... the strange thing is that I always have about 7 litres left ... then the DTE just sits on zero for 40kays .... oops ... now I've done it ... the sub-zero club :hiwelcome: thanks again Mick , $140 times 6 is the answer to your question Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/6339-distance-to-empty-competition/page/4/#findComment-75705 Share on other sites
