Is It Just Me

Finally picked up the new G6ET-- and yeah I love it to bits-- 6km on the clock and got a bit worried by the smell on the way home-- it had obviously not ever been runing long enough to get warm through. Hope to take it for a decent drive this weekend, and also to get some pics.

Does any one else have a problem with the top of the steering wheel blocking the top of the gauges?? I have tried every different type of seating position -- and it is exceptionally comfortable-- however the wheel cuts the top of the gauges off- and this is in both the rev and speed range that I need. I have tried to raise the wheel higher and the seat lower - no good- I have to duck my head to see the top of the instrument panel.

I am only 6' tall and what is politely called "big Boned" or Large Framed- I am interested how some other taller blokes get on.

Could there be a problem with the seat height-- it does adjust through a reasonable range, the steering column seems to have abiout 1/2 to 2/3 " between the dash panel in its highest position. I also like the back of my legs supported however with the front of the seat up there is very little room between the seat and the wheel for your legs.

I have no issues. I have the wheel up all the way and sea adjusted accordingly. I am 5.10 and starting to get big boned slowly!!

pm tab, he has a g6et and is one big son of a bitch...... :stupid:

I'm 5'10" as well, and on the 'upper' side of the so called 'healthy weight range' ... don't have a problem seeing it either. Can see the revs fine, I tend to have the km/h displayed on the little screen in the middle so I'm not so fussed whether I can see the speedo or not, but I'm pretty sure I can.

Thanks Jamie...that's what they all say.

I think the visibility through the wheel on the FG is less than previous models, but not really a major issue. Like the above freak I have the current speed on the digital display so I can concentrate on not getting photos taken by the lifesavers parked up in their vans....otherwise it probably would piss me off a bit.

I find having the digital display makes it so much harder to speed. With the needle you can always 'rationalise' it and say to yourself "well, it's close to 70, as long as it isn't touching 80 it's alright" but when it's on digital, if it hits 74 I'm like WTF, slow down gramps!

Yeah true, pretty hard to ignore it. Even when the eyesight is starting to fail.

Because according to the government, that 4km/h over means you have murdered 4 people. You should be locked up for life.

Hey Mate,

I'm just under 6'3 and I find it a bit hard to see the traction control light when it comes on...... I do drive with it off when im in Performance mode, so not much of an issue. But yeah its a little cramped for vision.... but yeah big digital speedo... awesome... Revs all ok for me...

LOL. My 'quest for a new car that I don't really need' started with similar rationalisations - all new cars now have cruise control you see. I had no choice but to upgrade . . .
