My mate (a dead set Expensive Daewoo man) has just ripped appart his vy clubby (tuned and made 230rwkw) 5.7L engine, its fully stripped waiting to be send away on monday to get bored to a 6.2L and has all forged gear to go into it all beacause he was beaten by my little 4L xr6t haha. But he loves cars and like to go fast, he has wanted to build a motor for a while and he is a mechanic and he has all the gear and a workshop at his disposal so why not build a motor. I dont really know my v8s but I guess it would make high 300s at the wheels naturally aspirated when its done, I told him oh ok I will just head down for another tune and add a few more psi and still beat you he was not happy lol. The whole point of doing it right now is so he can add the supercharger or twin turbo down the track when he finds some more money, when its got the supercharger or tt it will be a weapon I guess he would probly see the other side of 500+rwkw? And I also left his dad for dead who drives a new gts tuned to around 290rwkw, apparently he has big plans too.

Has anyone else got a story about some friendly rivalry and the lengths people have gone to to be faster, bigger, better

yeah I have a similiar story, mate has a 350rwkw 6.0ltr vz,6spd manual yada yada, massive work done.

My auto xr6t with 335rwkw owned him every run, standing start and rolling.

If your mate puts a blower or tt kit on though your gonna have to spend alot of money to beat it. But remember theres always someone faster.

You will spend less than half the money he did on his SC to smash him again....

Let him go...he will eventually turn to the Blue side

if his plan is to go forced induction he would want to lower the compression when building it, if this is the case it would be pritty lazy till he fits forced induction, ud still kick his arse in untill he fits em haha

ive got a similar story....when I first got my T it was dead stock and I used to race my mate with a TT 300zx that was modified, he used to beat me off the line but id reel him in, anyway I went and got injectors and a tune without him knowing and we went for a cruise...was filling up petrol and he saw the headsextuned sticker on my back window n asked what that was....I go ohh just some xr6 thing they were giving out on the forum...he bought it lol. As we're driving we line up with a black R34 GT-T skyline....beat the 300zx by about 5 car lengths and the skyline by about 6 or 7 lol....went to a dyno day at a workshop and while I was there we saw the same black skyline up on the hoist no engine to be seen so thought he must b gettin some serious work done. Ran into the same skyline a few months later (after I had fitted FMIC, fuel pump, cat, wastegate ported and 12psi actuator), he popped his hood to show off a nice T04Z if I remember correctly, and gave me the list of mods he had done (apparently he was running 350rwkw now) so went out for a drive....roll ons we booted it and I pulled away from him, tried again same outcome. from standing start absolutely demolished him. ran into him at a dyno day after that and his car made 307rwkw, mine made 296.4rwkw. After that he told me he spent $15k on his engine and now he wants an XR6t lol saw his car for sale not long after that.

I'd love to see an SS or a Clubsport owner, who's looking for good power, pull the Yank anchor out and fit a late model Falcon or FPV turbo motor to make some grunt.

That would be interesting.

Be careful of the quiet ones there the ones that will spank you. My tuners got a TT monaro that sounds quiet as but its making 630rwhp & is an absolute weapon. the loud ones are generally N/A & youve got nothing to be scared of but you just never know. I havent ever really raced anyone but I have taken a few boys with T's up here for a ride or 2 & it hasnt taken them long to start modding. Have been a bad influence on a few blokes around our small town. I think theres 4 or 5 other modded T's over 300kw in a town that you can go from one side to the other in under 5 mins if that.

Ran at Lakeside last week and on 357 RWK we smoked the BA XR8 modded ute and the 6 litre VE ute down the straight , now just need to work out the corners. Had the VE ute owner come up and look under the bonnet as I do not think he was real aware of what was there.

We still have over 400RWK on 98 and near 500 on 109 once we have handling sorted , so they will probably come back with some more go , and just by a change in tune and fuel we can get another 50 RWKW to 150 RWKW.

Looking to the bigger intercooler and methanol and water injection for more power longer. It is a bit different to a 10 second dyno run and heat is the killer.
