Hey everyone,

Just looking to download / buy a new virus scanner for my pc as someone got my credit card details somehow and put a heap of charges on it the other night... Should get it all back, but don't want anything like this happening again! I have currently got AVG free, but I dont think it checks for spyware. Should I get 2 seperate programs for this or does anyone know a good program that will check for both?

Cheers, Peter.

Mcafee and Norton are actually among the poorer performers, especially Norton. They are both resource hungry and perform slow scans. Use Google and you will find much better.

yup, agree. I just use what I get for free, and I just set the scan to start around 3am, so doesn't affect me.

Stopzilla, though it is pretty agressive on pop ups.

It tends to find/block more nasties than McAfee , Adaware, Spybot, Windows Defender etc

I use Avast 4.8 Professional. I have found it to be very reliable. I use adaware Pro 2007 to remove all of my spyware and tracking cookies. I previously had norton Systmworks found that I was still getting virus's Whereas Avast stops the page and asks for my instructions.... I can't say enough about Avast.. It is well worth the money..
