Zf - Steal Pan Sump/Bolts & Penrite Trans Oil

To check oil select gears in this order after the trans is warm to the touch.

R,D,S-2,D,R,P (leave in each gear for 3 sec)

Remove fill plug. Fluid should be clear and should be level with the bottom of the fill hole.

Yes fill plug is where you mentioned and you turn it off before checking, only run the car before jacking it to get the transmission warm. Also is states in the procedure if its low top it up and take it for a drive to get it warm again (but dont go past 2,500RPM) it says to drive about 4-5km. Then repeat the procedure for checking oil and refill if needed.

You hear different things in here about putting oil in these things 4L or 4.7L but dose it matter if ya put to much in them. When I first ever did mine I held a bucket under there to see how much came out and there was 5.5L

I thought Nulon said it wasn't ok for 6 speed autos.... better check the fine print I think.

I'll be looking to get BMW Oil No. 8322 0142516 (as per the ZF pdf linked to above), as my mate is a BMW spare parts manager and can hopefully get me a good price, might even see if I can get it done at his dealership.

Ok I made contact with Penrite and they recommend the SIN ATF for the ZF. I am still confused as people here are saying that you should use the other Penrite oil (not the Sin ATF).

I will be getting ford to do a full flush (the whole 9 litres) and getting them to fill mine with the Penrite (SINT ATF I was thinking). They did however tell me that there would obviously be no warranty in regards to the different oil being used but im fine withat that. I do have 340rwkw and apparently the genuine oil doesnt handle that much power anyway, (well it isn't doing so well at the moment) 3rd to fourth gear change makes a wierd sound when changing almost if its slipping!!!
