hey everone I have a xr6 na and I am going to supercharge it with capa what do u think is better

to me this seems like a massive waste of money. You'd be better of trading up to a turbo and getting it tuned. You'll never get the money back you spent on mods so if you ever want to sell it will be worth a lot less than a lightly modded T.

the other thing you need to worry about is legality.

there has been some noise recently about changing the rules in relation to mods.

sell yours, buy a T, do the supporting mods to 300rwkw, and drive a legal car around. (bar the tuning alteration) and you'll be laughing.

There is nothing like the real thing.

But do it anyway. Different is good, although in this case, not anywhere near as good as a T.

Ignore the chumps above, get an air-air kit and tromp them initally at the lights. You will have a fatter bottom end than us Turbo drivers will.

Nothing wrong with being unique, and once you install it, I bet all the boys n girls will want a piece of that whiny supercharger noise your going to have.

by all means if money is no issue and you don't care about having teething problems, engineering problems, insurance problems, problems with cops, belts slipping, limited power capabilites, fixed boost, etc etc etc etc.. then do the supercharger

What do you base that on Christiann, the kits have been around a while now. Supercharger and turbocharger technology is about as advanced as eachother. Slipping belts are not an issue if its set up right.

What teething issues can be expected from the capa kit, the only person I know with one bolted straight up and hasnt had an issue in close to 4 years now.

As for legalities a supercharged carbied big block in a ba is no more illegal than half the tuned cars on this forum so not sure why that's brought up.

I have witnessed numerous super charger installs where the person involved hasn't been happy with the result...

I'd hate to see the insurance premium on a supercharged BA, and once again, all it would take would be one routine stop or TOG pull over for the car to be off the road for whatever reasons he see's fit.

Tuned XR6T's are a little harder to pick up on, and as far as I know there is no way to tell if it has been tuned.

Like I said, if you don't mind the odd headache, go for it. If you want a fast BA, buy a turbo and do the supporting mods to 300rwkw.

By the way, I had an ED Fairmont before this car that I was going to supercharge.. My mate gave me the inspiration with this..
