Team/Group/ Orientated Topics?

Well folks, call me pathetic, call me what you will. I just think that the team orientated fun was exactly that... fun. If you don't like a thread that is clearly dedicated to that sort of thing, then don't go there. No need to stop things happening cause you don't like it. Other members might.

Perhaps the problem was that the colour wars were starting to creep into a large number of threads, many of which had little if anything to do with colour to start with - eg, my new car just arrived, its 'xxxx' colour; oh really you chose that colour, can't pull chicks in that colour/gee those cars are really slow, blah blah blah.

Still, we do need an outlet. Prohibition never works. If we can't slag off at each other here, it will escalate, and there will be anarchy on the streets!!!

Sorry if people are offended, annoyed or just bored with it ... I thought it was a bit of fun ... but then, I think most things should be a bit of fun. :D

I understand why people get upset when a serious thread gets highjacked and I admit I'm responsible for a lot of this. It's just that I see something in a post and can't help but take the piss ...

I'll understand if threads get closed, but judging by the many responses to the posts, I get the feeling I'm not the only one who finds them entertaining.

agreed, that's why I couldn't understand why Silverhawk's topic was closed in the "chit chat" area, entitled "Team HgAg revisited" I mean, no illusions as to what that topics for. But yes, I personaly love the entire range of colours of the XR. Obviously, I thought I could live with Mercury Silver day in day out without getting bored of it. The other colours, are a little to spicy for me, but damn they look nice.

To put my 2c's worth in seeing as I'm the culprit that closed the formentioned thread.

As I said in that particular thread funny is funny until it's in your face everywhere you go and as Ani pointed out it's starting to bleed into thread's all over the board dragging particulary interesting topic's into the gutter without any thought for those member's that are trying to either learn or pass on good information in those thread's.

Maybe I overstepped the mark on closing that thread as it's in CHIT CHAT but it's a decision I'll stand by. Unfortunately being a Moderator we have to see the bigger picture of the board as a whole and look out for it's best interest's. Not going into those particular threads isnt realy an option a Mod has as we would then be not doing the job we were asked to do in the first place, whether we like it or not is it's something that's put aside to ensure that you guy's enjoy your stay here for however long that may be and it's a given that somewhere along the line we will make decision's that you guy's wont like for as the saying goes you may please some of the people all of the time or all of the people some of the time.

If you dont like the decision's I make please feel free to take it up with Chris via PM so he can kane my buttock's for overstepping the mark but please dont beat around the bush and fluff it up with some silly ass poll, come out and say it like it is and with meaning. I was asked by CJ to do this job on a voluntary basis and would be just or more than pleased to hand it onto somebody else.

I'm all for sh!t's and giggles it's one of the only reason I have a computer for, reading Ken's, Silverhawk's and others rant's are one of the highlight's of the day in my boring little excistence on this dull little ball we like to call Earth.

Second, I think on balance it was probably the right call you made. A message needed to be sent (lay off on the colour stuff in every second thread on the board), and I think you chose the most effective and practical means of sending that message .

Yeh, what he said. I only responded with the Team Venom thing after Ken & Silverhawk kept going on and on about HgAg. The banter was fun for a while but the joke has started to wear a bit thin now. I think Dagabond did the right thing. They are all great colours and I'm sure you are all a great bunch of guys and girls, even you Ken, so let's all forget this Team and Colour BS and just get on and enjoy our cars.

Dags, you did the right thing........Sorry Silverhawk & Ken! Your posts have been very entertaining but a lot of us are feeling. "Enough is enough".

It was fun.......Watching these HgAg members argue and strive for dominance against the rest of the colour spectrum. Sure it was all in good fun and was quite entertaining. I know I was getting slightly sick in saying 'all colours are great'. (Which they are).......If a BA was given to me, I don't think I'd seriously be unhappy with any of the colours. It is an excellent range. I'd be extra happy if the colour was Blueprint (Shockwave), Phantom, Silhouette or Blood Orange as they are my favourites of the range. But that's leaving the 'point'. Don't let it flood other topics, especially if a new member is so happy about getting their XT/XR6/XR6T/XR8/GT...etc. Just welcome them. How would you feel if you were someone that has just signed on unaware about what has happened and you cop this colour war crap in the thread YOU started? It would annoy the hell outta me!
