May 4, 200917 yr #1 Hey guys, I've got a BA MKII XR6 Turbo and I'm thinking about going a little crazy with it. I wonder if anyone has heard of a supercharged and turbo'd 6??? Can it be done?
May 4, 200917 yr #2 Of course it can. Bit like rootin' your granny though, it is technically possible but...
May 4, 200917 yr #4 Author A bit like rooting my granny in the fact that people will think I'm strange or the fact that I'll have to dig six foot of dirt before I can do it? I'm assuming the fitting of the supercharger hardware will be the easy bit, with hundreds of hours of tuning being my major issue?
May 4, 200917 yr #5 Sorry...poor form I know. I'd have to go digging too Have a look at some of the massive powered cars on here, it gets to the point that with a turbo swapover everything else starts breaking before you can use all the available power. What's your inspiration? To reduce the low-down lag?
May 4, 200917 yr #6 Author Nah man not poor form at all, I thought it was hilarious!!! My inspiration is wanting something that no one else has got, or at least something that is very rare. I do understand how much power these cars can make with normal mods, but I dont wanna follow the leader...
May 4, 200917 yr #7 Is it going to be some kind of show car? Because if not, I just don't see why you would bother? Fair call on wanting to be different but surely there are other ways? Paint it baby sh1t brown…!It’s not - easy, cheap, practical, won't give you awesome power or increased drivability, won't even look much good IMO....What about twin turbo? That would be different and far better than a blower!
May 4, 200917 yr #8 VW has their golf (I think) both supercharged and turbocharged, the engine is only 1.4 but produces good power, no need to do the same with a 4 lt.
May 4, 200917 yr #9 Author I didn't even think of the twin turbo route.... They'd p*ss along with a two stage set up wouldn't they. Anyone had any experience with twin turbos?
May 4, 200917 yr #10 Senna had plans for a twin t setup. I'm sure he will be along shortly to give you more info.
