Have you had to replace it yet? Touch wood - so far so good.It is not grinding or making any other funny noises.....yet. Gear selection is still as good as it ever was, which is rubbish anyway. I don't slam changes through or anything too brutal as I am trying to have some compassion for it waiting ever so patiently for the series 2's. Posted 29/12/03 12:38 AM Share Posted 29/12/03 12:38 AM Geea, how's the transmission going on the car and after how many Ks did you get the chip installed?cheers I got the chip after about 16000km, its awesome. The transmission has always had a slight slip from 2nd-3rd at full noise (130-140kmph). The slip is more noticable with the extra power though. Ford are aware that there was a problem and there is a revised valve body. I took the service supervisor for a spin up Ferntreegully Rd and showed him the problem, the first time I took off to the 2-3 change he noticed it (he seemed to be a bit worried) , so I said "I better show you again on the way back". He organised a new valve body straight away, which will be put in as soon as it comes back from the panel beaters. :banghead: Geea. You said it Dave - why would you?Exact mods to my ute are :1. Centre muffler removed2. UniFilter Rampod in place of standard airbox and my patented heat shielding (the boys will know what I am talking about  )3. Bigger fuel regulator4. Xede from Chip TorqueOn Redcliffe's dyno, again witnessed by many from this forum, on a very hot and humid Brisbane day (probably mid 30's in the dyno area) the ute put out 350HP at the wheels - or translated, 260KW's. That was in Shootout 8 mode. That is very, very cheap power. On Chip Torque's dyno, it was about 230kws at the wheels, NOT in shootout mode but again, very hot when run. Now, we are going to change the fuel pump and injectors to throw some more fuel in to go a little harder - keeping in mind that the gearbox has to last......... (optionally you could at this stage add a rising rate fuel regulator ... I wouldn't ... or change your fuel pump to say a 550 HP direct replacement, or add a Bosch in-line 600HP pump, for around $400)If you then add a fuel fump and injectors you'll need to get the XEDE retuned, so you'll be up for additional tuning costs. Again, that's your choice.Brian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5705-chip-torque-mod/page/9/#findComment-77230 Share on other sites

The high pressure drop (around 3-4lb) across the standard IC, and it's flow capacity. There are other ICs available other than APS's.2. The restrictive cat. There are several options available e.ga. a dual system say 2.5", with dual cats (of the more restrictive type).b. as I use, a 3.5" down pipe into a 3.5" cat with hi-flow steel-mesh ceramic coated internals, into a dual system, say 2.5" all the way back, no centre muffler, available from Tuffys in Sydney.I know both of these exhaust systems have been used successfully with the XEDE, and of course my (Tuffy) system has been tested with Nizpro Stage 2 & 3 systems.Brian Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/5705-chip-torque-mod/page/9/#findComment-77244 Share on other sites
